A tranquil oasis off the mainstream tourist track, Tak province looks forward to welcoming visitors with warm Thai hospitality and a unique culture like no other this November.
Known as Thailand’s western frontier to Myanmar and gateway to the Northern provinces, Tak is home to the unique ‘Loi Krathong Sai’ floating lantern festival. A source of pride for the province, the illuminating nighttime celebration marks the full moon on the 12th month in the Thai traditional calendar. Held on the Ping River, the festival represents the area’s unique cultural heritage, and local wisdom passed down from generation to generation.
